In Kind is an exploration of the precarious nature of living in the intersections, of the mediation of heritage and identity and of the dichotomy of inclusion and exclusion in contemporary Australia. This collection of work examines that space in between, using mixed media techniques to mirror the complexity of combined cultural heritage in the understanding of personal identity and place. The narrative of these works is that of a shift: from the creation of identity in response to external factors to the power of unapologetic self-awareness and understanding.
